An independent guide

Order of the Sinking Star World Map

The Order of the Sinking Star world map branches from the Crossroads into four starting worlds: the Hearty Heroes of Hauling to the north, the Mirror Isles to the east, Skipping Stones to Lonely Homes to the south and Vault of the Beamcasters to the west. The overworld connects their individual puzzles and later combined regions; there is no required order for the four starting routes. Use the region index below to match your characters and landmarks, then check the relevant connection or guide. This is a guide to those verified worlds and covered regions, not a coordinate atlas of every puzzle.

Coverage
Crossroads, four starting worlds, named northern courses, opening Mirror Isles connections and the documented northeast Heroes and Mirrors connection.
Version
Official September 2026 world description and launch-period October guides. June demo naming and community-map evidence are identified separately; an exact current patch is not established.
Orientation
North, east, south and west are the routes from the Crossroads. Author-local screen, part and puzzle numbers below do not define a universal coordinate system.

Use the Crossroads as your orientation point

After the tutorial, collect the map above the Crossroads, as shown in the launch-period walkthrough hub. This central starting area has a road in each cardinal direction. You can choose any of them; a suggested north or east start is a learning recommendation, not a prerequisite that locks the other routes.

Four starting routes from the Crossroads. These directions identify worlds, not the position of every room within them.

Match a world or covered region to the right reference

Verified names and source-local regional labels in the covered material. A named region may contain many rooms; a guide's part number is not another world.

Match the room's characters and objects as well as its name. A northern monster board with two heroes is not identified as Heroes and Mirrors merely because it contains a dragon. The dragon guide's arrangement table separates its covered stamp rooms from an older two-hero button board.

Read the puzzle markers and uncovered space

Pink flower
The launch beginner guide identifies this as an unsolved puzzle marker. Seeing the flower does not necessarily mean you can already walk to it; some visible entrances are physically out of reach.
Large pink flower at a gold room
The same guide identifies it as the first puzzle of that area. It is a local entrance cue, not proof that the whole region is solved.
Orange-to-pink portal
The beginner guide says a portal changes from orange to pink when you step on it to activate it. Use that change to distinguish an activated connection from one you have only seen.
Fog-covered map area
The official world article describes the fog fading as progress reveals larger areas and interwoven mechanics. An uncovered area is exploration information, not a campaign-completion counter.

The overworld itself contains movement problems. Tunnels, one-way tunnels and teleportation points can connect spaces that look separated in a quick map view. Use the visible entrance, character and objects to establish your local position before applying a room solution.

Gold Rooms connect puzzle systems. The September official explanation says clearing them bridges pairs of worlds and introduces six dual-combination areas. That description explains the larger structure; it does not specify the exact opening condition of every gate on the map.

For the northeast connection, the original Heroes and Mirrors guide describes a golden mirror from the Mirror Isles, a path through the Heroes world and the crystal released after the platform's puzzle sequence. Its wording is inconsistent about the number of puzzles in that sequence, so the table uses the observable released-crystal condition rather than inventing a count.

Worlds, regions and puzzle counts mean different things

Keep each number attached to its actual source and scope.

TermVerified scopeWhat it does not count
Starting worldsFour cardinal worlds in the official world descriptionEvery named region, sub-region or room
Dual-combination areasSix in the September official Gold Rooms explanationAll other overworld locations or every later combination
Full-game puzzlesOver one thousand handcrafted puzzles in the official descriptionMap coordinates, guide chapters or a count independently measured by this site
June demo levelsAround 110 levels plus parts of the overworld in the historical official demo FAQThe full-game region total or an exact present-build puzzle count
A walkthrough's Part or ScreenA source-local way to group a route; Part 5 in the covered dragon guide contains one multi-room stamp stageA universal in-game level ID or a new starting world

There is no established total of named regions or coordinate entries in the evidence used for this index. When a guide says “eight puzzles” or “three parts,” read its starting point and endpoint: the opening Mirror Isles route covers eight local rooms, while the dragon stamp stage has three connected segments. Neither number measures the whole world map.

Use Joric's community map as a separate reference

Joric publishes an interactive map with a project repository and wiki. It can help you identify a board through its project labels. Those labels and any project coordinates are community references, not an official universal numbering system.

In the supplied June-era discussion, the author says the detailed observations came from the demo and the low-resolution image of the wider overworld came from a trailer. Match a pictured board to your own version before using its solution or coordinate. That provenance does not establish current full-game coverage, a verified total of locations or a solution for every map point.

For a written route in this site's covered eastern area, use the opening Mirror Isles walkthrough. For historical June footage, use the demo walkthrough, whose recorded section names are kept separate from full-game compatibility.
