An independent guide
Order of the Sinking Star Japan Release & PLAYISM
PLAYISM handles the Japanese digital Switch 2 and PS5 editions of Order of the Sinking Star. On October 13, 2026 its Japanese product page still listed a planned 2026 release and a price to be determined. The Japanese PS Store product showed Announced and Add to Wishlist, without a purchase price; its detailed date field displayed October 9 despite that pending offer. Steam is a separate Windows product: the explicitly Japan-scoped record showed the released game at ¥3,400 with Japanese interface and subtitle support. Neither the US console launch nor Steam availability confirms that a Japanese console purchase is open.

PLAYISM's agreement covers the Japanese digital console versions
The publisher's September 10 announcement names PLAYISM, part of Active Gaming Media Inc., as its Japanese console co-publishing partner. Its stated scope is the digital Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 releases in Japan. PLAYISM's own September showcase announcement describes the same downloadable console versions.
That agreement does not turn PLAYISM into the listed publisher of the Steam product. Steam identifies Thekla, Inc. as developer and Arc Games and Gamirror Games as publishers. It also does not establish a packaged Japanese edition; the physical-edition reference keeps that question separate.

Read the current Japanese console status before purchasing
Original Japanese records checked October 13, 2026. A wishlist and a conflicting date field are not a confirmed purchase offer.
Scroll across to read every column.
| Record | What it currently says | What remains unresolved |
|---|---|---|
| PLAYISM game page | Digital sales for Switch 2 / PS5; release: 2026年予定, meaning planned for 2026; tax-inclusive price: 未定, meaning to be determined. | No exact local day or confirmed yen console price is supplied by this record. |
| Japanese PS Store — concept 10017166 | PLAYISM, PS5; Announced and Add to Wishlist. No purchase price was shown. The detailed legal-information date read 2026/10/9 in the current browser. | The displayed date conflicts with the pending purchase panel and PLAYISM's broader plan; the public record does not establish an open local purchase. |
| Japanese Switch 2 entry from PLAYISM | The checked publisher page names Switch 2 but its Nintendo-labelled link returns to the publisher game page. | No distinct live Japanese Nintendo purchase page was verified through that entry. |
For PS5, use the Japanese PlayStation product linked by PLAYISM. Match PLAYISM and PS5, then read its current local offer. At this check it supports following the game on a wishlist, rather than buying it at a confirmed yen price.
For Switch 2, start with the Japanese PLAYISM product record. Its digital platform label is a publishing plan; the observed self-link does not supply a usable Nintendo checkout. Do not substitute the US Switch 2 listing as proof of Japanese availability.
The global release reference records the publisher's October 8 launch announcement. Its schedule and US store facts should not erase the pending Japanese purchase status or explain the conflict without a source.

The Japan-scoped Steam game is a separate released product
Valve's full-game API queried with cc=jp returned App 499170, currency JPY, ¥3,400 and no standalone discount on October 13. Its release flag was coming_soon:false. This confirms a Japan-scoped Steam product and price record; it is not a test of any particular account's payment eligibility.
Use the Steam game page with Japan selected. Steam's record lists Japanese among the supported text languages, while English is the full-audio language. A Japanese interface is therefore a different question from a Japanese voice track.
The Steam edition's native platform record is Windows. For local hardware, see PC system requirements; for supported access from a Mac, see Mac compatibility. The price and buying reference keeps the yen record separate from its US-dollar comparison.

Keep language, account region and edition separate
Language and region boundaries in the checked official records.
Scroll across to read every column.
| Edition | Language support established | Purchase boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Windows game | Japanese interface and subtitles; English full audio. | The cc=jp price is JPY and belongs to the Steam game. It is not a console price. |
| PLAYISM Japanese console plans | The publisher lists Japanese among eleven supported languages. | The page does not split each language into voice/interface/subtitle fields. Its release remains planned and its price undecided. |
| US PS5 product | Japanese appears in the US product's screen-language list. | A Japanese screen-language option does not make a US purchase available to a Japanese PlayStation account. |
| US Switch 2 product | The supplied US list has ten languages and does not include Japanese. | Use the language list of the actual regional edition rather than combining the US and Japanese records. |
Sony states that Store content varies by account country and that the country cannot be changed after account creation. If the issue is a wrong regional product or a failed PS5 purchase, the PS5 store-help steps identify the legitimate checks.
The supplied community discussion suggests localization or approval explanations for the Japanese launch gap, but the checked official records do not establish those causes. This page therefore reports the actual publisher and store status without adopting that speculation.
